Description
The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to award a sole source contract to BAE Systems Electronic Systems, Greenlawn, New York, to add KIV-80 capability into the Common Core Digital Interrogator (CCDI) design to create interchangeability for the KIV-79 and KIV-80. As the sole designer, developer and manufacturer of the Digital Interrogator (DI), BAE is the only source with the requisite knowledge, experience, data and technical expertise to provide the required supplies and services. The authority permitting other than full and open competition is Title 10, U.S. Code 2304 (c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, �Only One Responsible Source�, and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. THIS NOTICE IS PUBLISHED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. A determination by the Government not to compete this procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government will not pay for any responses received. There are no commitments by the Government to issue any solicitations, make an award or awards, or to be responsible for any monies expended by any interested parties before award of a contract for the efforts mentioned above.
