NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE Notice ID: 75N98026Q00171 THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE ORDER AND NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTATIONS. This contract action is for the acquisition of supplies/equipment for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.106-1(b). The National Eye Institute (NEI) intends to award a single source purchase order to Leica Microsystems, Deerfield, IL, for the acquisition of preventive service maintenance for the government Leica Stellaris 8 (serial no. 8300000691) and Leica SP8 Confocal (serial no. 8110001943). The National Eye Institute (NEI) Biological Imaging Core needs to obtain the annual preventative service maintenance agreement for a clinical instrument Leica Stellaris 8 (serial no. 8300000691) and Leica SP8 Confocal (serial no. 8110001943). The instrument�s service shall consist of a thorough cleaning, calibration, adjusting, inspection, and testing of all equipment in accordance with the manufacturer�s latest established service procedures. All equipment shall be operationally tested through at least one (1) complete operating cycle at the end of the preventive maintenance inspection to ensure optimum and efficient performance. Software Service and updates are required as part of the contract and should include only original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts and include a guaranteed on-site response. The anticipated period of performance will be : Base Year: 04/22/2026 � 04/21/2027 Option Year 1: 04/22/2027 � 04/21/2028 Option Year 2: 04/22/ 2028 � 04/21/2029 Option Year 3: 04/22/2029 � 04/21/2030 The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 811210 � Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance and a size standard of $34M. NEI will solicit and negotiate directly with Leica Microsystems, and no solicitation will be issued. Interested parties may identify their interest, capability and must submit a capability statements indicating they are certified technicians authorized by the manufacturer. Award is subject to approval of the Sole Source Justification. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals or quotations; however, an interested party may submit a statement of capabilities if they believe they can meet the above requirement. The statement of capabilities must be submitted in writing and contain sufficient detail to allow the Government to determine if the party can provide the requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. All responses must be received within 7 days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Information received will normally be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no affirmative responses are received within 7 days of this notice, an award will be made to Leica Microsystems. This procurement is to be processed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
