Description
Lawrence Livermore National Security, LLC (hereinafter called LLNS) is seeking sources for commercially available off-the-shelf (COTS) high-power semiconductor laser diode products in support of LLNS requirements. Only contractors that have considerable demonstrated expertise and experience in high-power semiconductor laser diode products, including diode bars, diode stacks, and related assemblies suitable for precision optical applications, and who possess the necessary contractor qualifications will be considered. LLNS is seeking sources capable of providing COTS high-power semiconductor laser diode products for evaluation and potential use in a laser amplifier application. The requested products are intended for optical pumping in a scientific or other precision laser system and are not general-purpose electronic diodes, lighting products, communications devices, detector devices, or consumer laser components. Relevant products include laser diode bars, bar stacks, and similar high-power semiconductor laser diode assemblies used in demanding optical environments. Responses should describe available standard product configurations, general performance capabilities, packaging and cooling approaches, expected operating life, estimated lead times, and any available qualification or performance information relevant to high-power semiconductor laser diode products of this type. Additional information may be provided to contractors that possess an active Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC) registration. Interested contractors should submit detailed information on their qualifications and capabilities via e-mail to William Wong, at wong129@llnl.gov.
