Description

Under the authority FAR 6.103-1, the United States Air Force has issued a Sole Source Justification for the Smart Shooter (SMASH) Fire Control System (FCS). This requirement includes five SMASH X4 units for the M4 rifle, a 12-month set of spare parts and special test equipment for maintenance, 1 SMASH 2000LE for M4, 1 SMASH CAST, and associated shipping and delivery to Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany. Smart Shooter Inc. is the sole developer, manufacturer, and provider of the proprietary SMASH family of fire control systems. These systems provide a unique predictive tracking and targeting capability that is essential for addressing the identified operational need. No other system is known to provide the specific capabilities of the SMASH FCS.
