Description
1. PURPOSE This Special Notice is issued to provide awareness of the release of a Request for Solutions (RFS) for an other transaction prototype project in accordance with 10 U.S.C. 4022. The MACH-XL 26 RFS been issued as part of the Strategic & Spectrum Missions Advanced Resilient Trusted Systems (S2MARTS) consortium managed by National Security Technology Accelerator (NSTXL) and administered by the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division. 2. BACKGROUND AND SUMMARY 2.1 Other Transaction Consortium Respondents to this RFS must be members of the S2MARTS Consortium. Interested parties may visit S2MARTS.org for membership information. 2.2 PROJECT OVERVIEW The Department of War (DOW) has developed advanced near-hypersonic and hypersonic systems; however, significant challenges in affordability and scalable production capacity exist. MACH-XL serves as a pathfinder initiative to address affordability and producibility challenges by conducting focused testing and demonstrations. Through early validation and prototyping, it aims to identify cost-effective solutions, reduce risk in production approaches, and establish a foundation for scalable, manufacturable designs. MACH-XL is specifically pursuing solutions for Near-Hypersonic & Hypersonic all-up-rounds (AURs) (Task Area 1) and Flexible Launcher Platforms (Task Area 2). Please visit the S2MARTS website at https://s2marts.org/ to review additional information regarding the MACH-XL RFS.
