Description
Miniature Multiple Threat System (Mini-MUTES) Transmitter Engineering and Obsolescence Study See attached RFI document for more information. Industry Question: Does the government already have a list of all the known obsolescent parts within the Mini-MUTES? Or is the government looking to industry to identify this as part of the engineering and obsolescence study? Government Answer: The Government does not have a list of known obsolescent parts within the Mini-MUTES transmitters. We are looking to industry to perform this as part of the engineering and obsolescence study. Industry Question: Is this anticipated work for the Mini-MUTES to study and replace the obsolete components while keeping the original core design in-tact? Or, is this effort envisioned to be a complete system redesign with modern components, yet still maintain interface interoperability with legacy systems? Government Answer: The engineering study would be to look at replacing or re-engineering the obsolete components while keeping the original core design in-tact. However, if a redesign with modern components, while maintaining interface interoperability and meeting the power output requirements is possible that would be a consideration as well.
