Description
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) intends to award a purchase order to Washington State University, Peter Hooper GeoAnalytical Laboratory, for major and trace element analysis of one geological sample using X-ray fluorescence (XRF) spectrometry and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). The purpose of this notice is to satisfy the requirements of the Revolutionary FAR Overhaul (RFO) implementation guidance and applicable FAR Part 5 publicizing requirements, including FAR Subpart 5.2. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement for consideration by the Government. Responses received will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based upon responses received is entirely at the discretion of the Government. No solicitation will be issued. The applicable NAICS code for this requirement is 541380- Testing Laboratories and Services. Responses shall be submitted electronically only to victor_nuno@ios.doi.gov and must be received in their entirety no later than Monday, May 18, 2026, at 12:00 PM Eastern Time. Responses submitted by hard copy or through any other method or web portal will not be accepted or considered.
