Description

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Sterling for Dell hardware extended warranty support. The Centers for Disease Control's Office of Advanced Molecular Detection manages the agency's High Performance Computing Center of Excellence, which includes extensive computing, network and storage resources to support CDC's scientific and public health mission. These high-performance computing resources are used by the majority of CDC's infectious disease programs for pathogen surveillance, outbreak investigations and applied public health research.The core infrastructure for this environment includes a High-Performance Computing (HPC) cluster, which had Dell components that require extended warranty support for base plus four option years. This contract action is for supplies and/or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP). This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within 10 days of the issuance of this notice shall be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any quotation/response should be emailed to contract specialist at zus0@cdc.gov by March 10, 2026 by 4:30PM EST.
