Description

The United States Department of the Naval Medical Research Command (NMRC) proposes to enter into a contract with Life Technologies Corporation in Grand Island, NY, on a basis of other than full and open competition. This requirement is for authorized approved vendors to perform services for brand name equipment. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals however If interested, the Government shall consider capability statements. Specific items include: o TaqMan probes are specialized, dual-labeled DNA oligonucleotides used in quantitative real-time PCR (qPCR) to detect and measure specific DNA sequences. They feature a 5 fluorescent reporter dye and a 3 quencher, which suppresses fluorescence until Taq DNA polymerase cleaves the probe during amplification, releasing a measurable signal proportional to the target DNA amount. o FAM, VIC and CY5 are the 5 markers respectably. o QSY, TAM, MGB, And QSY2 are all 3 markers respectably. o The probes can be used to perform Multiplex up to five/six targets o TAM for Multiplex up to 2 targets, Ideal for maintaining consistency in projects using legacy TAMRA probe designs, Available with FAM, VIC, and TET dyes o MGB for multiplexing up to five targets with FAM, VIC, ABY, JUN, and Cyanine 5 (Cy5) o QSY for multiplexing up to four targets with ABY, JUN, FAM, and VIC dyes o QSY2 for 5th and 6th target multiplexing with Cyanine 5 (Cy5) and Cyanine 5.5 (Cy5.5) dyes The NAICS code for this action is 325414. This requirement will be procured under the guidelines of FAR Part 12 Commercial Items. NMRC requires that all contractors doing business with the Acquisition Office must be registered with the Systems for Award Management (SAM).
