Includes: Includes: All services necessary to manage, store, organize, retrieve, and transport physical Federal records. This also includes destruction services. This may also include services that contain ancillary IT software, hardware, and equipment.
Excludes: Excludes: Digitization of physical records, document conversion services related to federal records (PSC R617).
Note: As described in 36 CFR 1220.18, “Physical Records Management” is the planning, controlling, directing, organizing, training, promoting, and other managerial activities related to the creation, maintenance and use, and disposition of physical records, carried out in such a way as to achieve adequate and proper documentation of Federal policies and transactions and effective and economical management of agency operations. Physical records include records in paper or other analog formats, such as audio tape or videotape. Physical records do not include items that are stored in a digital format on a computer, server, or some form of digital media.
