Description
See additional Vendor Questions below: Questions: 1) Applicable Performance Standards item 2 requires The Prime Contractor to always have a competent supervisory person on site when any workers or sub-contractors are present. a. This scope of work only requires a single qualified fire door technician. Mandating an additional on-site supervisor effectively doubles the labor cost for a one-person task. Will the VA reconsider the requirement for this specific service contract to preserve taxpayer dollars and ensure fair, reasonable pricing? - Yes, if they re NFPA 80 Fire Inspector Certified. 2) In the instructions to offerors, (2) Technical Capability, item c requires a minimum qualification as a State Licensed Master Electrician or Registered Journeyman Electrician. Fire door inspections, as stated in the SOW, do not involve an electrician of any kind as a fire door is an assembly, not an electrical system or component. a. To ensure proper quality control over the contract, would the government consider revising this requirement to an NFPA 80 Fire Door Inspector certification or equivalent to ensure the properly qualified technicians are performing this work. Yes.
