Description
The Bureau of Reclamation, Interior Region 8: Lower Colorado Basin (LCB) is issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a firm fixed-price contract for the 150-ton cableway crane at the Hoover Dam that needs to be refurbished. The Bureau of Reclamation, Interior Region 8: Lower Colorado Basin has a requirement for the 150-ton cableway crane at the Hoover Dam that needs to be refurbished. The ground to the middle of the track cables is approximately 600 feet. When work is being completed on the NV tower, the ground is approximately 100 feet below. The track cables spans from the AZ anchorage to behind the NV tower. The length of the track cable is 1,615�, most of which is above the canyon. The principal components of work include: 1. Replace the 6, 3-�" track cables. 2. Replace the 2, 1-1/8" button line cables and button line tensioners 3. Refurbish the existing carriage 4. Install the already fabricated slack carrier 5. Replace sheaves 6. Lubricate all wire ropes 7. Lubricate the hoist house mechanical components and tower sheaves 8. Retension the track cables 9. Replace the hydraulic hand pump and lines on the NV side tensioning system 10. Load test the cableway crane 11. Perform an annual inspection and certify the crane This procurement action is being solicited as full and open competition/unrestricted and a subcontracting plan will be required for other than small businesses. The NAICS code for this requirement is 237990 Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction. The small business size standard is $45 million. This requirement is being procured in accordance with FAR Part 15, Contracting by Negotiation, FAR Part 36, Construction and Architect-Engineer Contracts. This work involves performing work as defined in the Statement of Work that will be provided when solicitation is issued. Detailed requirements and/or specifications will be listed within the solicitation. A Firm Fixed Price award is contemplated from this solicitation with an award to the offeror(s) providing the best value, based on the evaluation criteria outlined in the solicitation once issued. Evaluation of interested firms is expected to be based on the following in the Solicitation: Factor 1 Relevant Experience Factor 2 Technical Capability Factor 3 Past Performance Factor 4 Small Business Participation Factor 5 Price The magnitude of the construction is estimated between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. Statements Regarding Trade Agreements: One or more of the items under this acquisition is subject to the World Trade Organization Government Procurement Agreement and Free Trade Agreements. The solicitation package will include the Solicitation Forms, Statement of Work and other attachments as required. Documents will be posted to SAM.gov about May 2026. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which will be considered by the agency.
