****** THIS IS A PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE ONLY ****** This is a public synopsis of a forthcoming solicitation in accordance with FAR 36.213-2. This is NOT a solicitation, and no solicitation documents are currently publicly available. This pre-solicitation notice is for Solicitation Number 36C24226B0055 Project Number 632-26-109 for the Replace Campus Fire Hydrants Number 11, 22, 27, 36 and 42 project at Northport VA Medical Center, 79 Middleville Road, Northport, NY 11768. This project will be 100% Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business Set-Aside (SDVOSB). Competition for this procurement is restricted to verified SERVICE- DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESS (SDVOSB) Contractors. The SDVOSB must be a small business under the relevant NAICS code and must be registered and verified in SBA s Small Business Search and https://www.sam.gov. The NAICS code for this procurement is 236220, Commercial and Institutional Building Construction, size standard: $45million. IAW VAAR 852.219-10 the VIP listed SDVOSB. Prospective Contractor will not pay more than 85% of the amount paid by the government to the prime for contract performance, excluding the cost of materials, to firms that are not VIP-listed SDVOBs. The magnitude of construction for this project is between $500,000 and $1.000,000. SCOPE OF WORK: The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) seeks a qualified contractor to provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools, testing, and incidentals required to replace fire hydrants, valves, install new underground fire suppression pipeline, relocate one hydrant, and perform associated site restoration at the Northport Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 79 Middleville Road, Northport, NY 11768. All work shall be performed in accordance with applicable manufacturer specifications, VA design guidelines, and NFPA requirements. The project includes the five dry barrel fire hydrant (FH) replacements, three fire valve (FV) replacements, two post indicator valves (PIV) with tamper switches replacements, relocation of one hydrant, and installation of approximately 280 linear feet of 8-inch ductile iron (DI) underground fire suppression piping. PROJECT COMPLETION: Contractor to start immediately after receiving the Notice to Proceed and complete required work in 120 calendar days. Prospective contractors must be registered at https://www.sam.gov in accordance with 38 CFR Part 74 and VAAR 819.70 to be eligible for award. There will be a site visit held for this project and all prospective bidders are strongly encouraged to attend. Details of the site visit will be included in the solicitation document. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be issued on/about June 3, 2026.
