The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), Maritime Administration (MARAD) is issuing this sources sought synopsis as a means of conducting market research to identify parties having an interest in and the resources to perform the requirements listed herein. The Suisun Bay Reserve Fleet (SBRF), located in Benicia, California has a requirement for the replacement and installation of a Load Moment Indicator (LMI) system on an Appleton Marine crane installed aboard the self-propelled crane barge MARY ANN as outlined in the attached draft Statement of Work (SOW). The Government is seeking a turnkey solution for a vendor to provide the following services: Removal and disposal of the existing LMI system Procurement and installation of the new LMI system Operational testing and OSHA certification of the crane The result of this market research will contribute to determining the method of procurement. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code assigned to this procurement is 811310, Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction, with a small business size standard of $12.5 million. There is no solicitation at this time. This request for capability information does not constitute a Request For Quotation (RFQ); submission of any information in response to this market survey is purely voluntary; the Government assumes no financial responsibility for any costs incurred. Any changes or clarifications that your firm would recommend to the draft SOW to encourage responsive, clear, and relevant quotations in terms of technical and pricing.
