Description
The purpose of this procurement is to acquire 125ea fiber?reinforced polymer enclosures that serve as exact replacements for approximately 500 existing units currently in use. Several of these enclosures have been damaged beyond repair and require direct replacement to maintain operational continuity and ensure the protection of mission?critical communication equipment. In addition to replacing damaged units, the new enclosures will also be used to fabricate additional complete units to support expanding operational needs This requirement is being procured on a sole?source basis because the replacement enclosures must be identical in size, material composition, structural strength, mounting configuration, cable ingress/egress layout, and environmental performance characteristics to the original units. These specifications are unique to the original manufacturer and are not available from alternate sources. Use of any enclosure that differs in form, fit, or function would require modifications to installed equipment, mounting hardware, or infrastructure, which would introduce unnecessary cost, engineering effort, and risk to field operations. Procurement of the exact replacement enclosures ensures compatibility with existing installations and allows damaged units to be replaced without altering designs, procedures, or safety requirements. This approach supports the continued reliability of deployed systems and maintains standardization across all field locations
