Description
Notice of intent for Law Enforcement Services 1. General Information This is a Notice of Intent to award a sole-source commercial services contract in accordance with FAR 5.203. This action is estimated to be below the Simplified Acquisition Threshold (SAT). In accordance with FAR 5.203(a)(1), the Government is establishing a 10-day notice period for this commercial requirement. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. 2. Description of Requirement The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Baltimore District (NAB), intends to solicit and award a firm-fixed-price sole source contract to the Tioga County Sheriff�s Department. The requirement is for Law Enforcement Services, including patrols and enforcement of the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania at the THC Lakes Project. 3. Justification for Single Source The Tioga County Sheriff�s Department maintains the unique jurisdiction, authority, and training required to enforce state and local criminal and civil laws within the project area. As the local law enforcement agency with primary jurisdiction over the THC Lakes Project, they possess the specific authority and sufficient manpower necessary to ensure public safety during peak visitation periods. 4. Response Instructions While this is a notice of intent to sole source, the Government will consider capability statements, proposals, or quotations received within 10 days after publication of this notice. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
