Description
The primary objective of this project is to replace the aging and non-functioning geothermal system at the Federal Prison Camp (FPC) in Yazoo City, Mississippi (p. 1). The contractor will install a new system utilizing three air-cooled condensers to service approximately 15,500 square feet of the Camp Core and Education buildings, while capping and abandoning the original geothermal system in place (p. 1). Key Specifications & Requirements Equipment: High-efficiency, sickle-blade AC fan motors (e.g., ZIEHL-ABEGG) operating at 550 RPM, enclosed in 16-gauge galvanized steel casings (p. 1). Electrical & Sound: Systems must run on 460 main power and maintain a maximum sound pressure level of 46 dBA at 10 meters (p. 1). Pressure Testing: High heat transfer tube and fin coils must be factory leak-tested and sealed at 600 psig (p. 1). Contractor Duties: Pouring concrete equipment pads, core drilling walls, connecting and insulating refrigeration/electrical lines, factory startup, and providing all necessary tools and safety equipment (p. 2). Operational Rules & Constraints Work Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 3:30 pm (excluding federal holidays), with a total project timeline not to exceed 150 calendar days (pp. 3-4). Security & Clothing: Workers must be escorted at all times (p. 3). Khaki, olive-green, camouflage, and sleeveless clothing are strictly prohibited (p. 3). Contraband: No electronic devices (cellphones, laptops, tablets), tobacco/vapor products, weapons, or unapproved medications are allowed on site (p. 3). Attached is the SOW.
