Description
BACKGROUND: The 19F5 Recruit Firefighting Trainer (FFT) in Great Lakes, IL has been in-service for over 30 years. The Navy training requirements have evolved and a new facility with both FFT and Damage Control Wet Trainer (DCWT) training capabilities is needed to meet the student throughput demand. The Damage Control Wet Trainer (DCWT) is utilized to train and evaluate damage control team performance in the identification, reporting, and repair of flooding casualties resulting from piping ruptures and ship collisions. SCOPE: The scope includes but is not limited to the following tasks: Provide Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) all trainer design to support mechanical and electrical components for all Fire Fighting Trainer (FFT) and Damage Control Wet Trainer (DCWT) equipment. Provide a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) system trainer design that allows for local and remote control functions. Incorporate a trainer system to include E-Stops, ventilation control, propane detection and temperature monitoring system. Provide and maintain trainer documentation to support Government System Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR) and logistics life cycle support documentation sets for the operation and maintenance of the trainer. The contractor shall not use proprietary information. PLACE OF PERFORMANCE: Work will be performed at Great Lakes, IL.
