Description
Purpose: The purpose of this memorandum is to express interest in a mobile, high-capacity trommel screener plant. The 513th Expeditionary RED HORSE Squadron (ERHS) and the 356th Expeditionary Prime BEEF Squadron (EPBS) are conducting large-scale vegetative clearing, excavation, and airfield rehabilitation operations at North Field, Tinian. With the goal of separating, consolidating, and possibly reusing the material native to the site, the Government requires a high capacity trommel screen. The NAICS Code for this request shall be either 333120 (Construction Machinery Manufacturing) or 532412 (Construction, Mining, and Forestry Machinery and Equipment Rental and Leasing). Background: The 513 ERHS and 356 EPBS are in search of acquiring a type of machinery that will sort material in a fashion to separate green waste material and organic soil material to be used as subgrade backfill. The material going into the machine is comprised of native timbers, roots, soil, and coral material, that has been removed from the construction site to be able to rebuild the airfield. Image 1 shows the material that will be placed into the machine. Image 2 includes that expected waste material that will exit the material, to be burned using and Air Curtain Incinerator. Image 3 shows the expected reusable material that will be used as subgrade backfill material on the airfield. Specifications: This Sources Sought Notice is being issued for market research purposes to determine the availability of qualified vendors capable of providing (via direct purchase, lease, or rental) a heavy-duty trommel screen that meets or exceeds the following specifications: a. Throughput Capacity: Sorting up to 180 cubic yards per hour, with 0.5-inch screens and <40% moisture b. Engine/Power: Minimum 120-horsepower (90 kW) Tier 4 Final diesel engine (e.g., CAT 3.6L or equivalent). c. Drum Dimensions: Minimum 20-foot long x 6.5-foot diameter quick-change tension screen drum. d. Product Sorting: Must feature adjustable front-fines, rear-fines, and overs conveyors to sort up to three products simultaneously e. Hopper Capacity: Minimum 6.5 cubic yards capacity with a maximum infeed height of approximately 9.5 feet for quick loading cycle times f. Drum Speed: Adjustable from 0 to 25 RPM to accommodate varying material types and moisture levels g. Portability/Transport: Must feature a towable chassis with independent hydraulic jacklegs for rapid site setup and leveling
