Description
This notice is for informational purposes only. Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a), the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Charleston District intends to issue a contract action on a sole-source basis to FFE/Heapy Joint Venture (J/V) (Designer of Record or DOR). This sole-source contract action will acquire follow-on architect-engineer (A-E) design and construction support services from the DOR, to complete the VBA Regional Office Building Interior Remodel and Modernization project in St. Petersburg, Florida. The 2nd-floor renovation was previously designed by the DOR under a prior contract with the Department of Veterans Affairs. The AE services will include updating the design documents to meet current USACE standards. The scope of the design includes updating the previously completed 2nd Floor Renovation design package, preparing construction contract documents, performing BCOES (Biddability, Constructability, Operability, Environmental, and Sustainability) reviews, and developing a design package for the repair or replacement of the facilitys atrium skylight. The services also include support during solicitation through the award of construction and an Option to provide Construction Phase Services (CPS).The AE shall update the 2nd-floor renovation design package that was previously completed under the Department of Veterans Affairs, to ensure compliance with current codes, USACE standards, and that the project design reflects these updates without causing a substantial duplication of costs or unacceptable delays to the Government.
