Description and Salient Characteristics Audiometric Sound Booth Description: The VA is seeking one (1) custom-built audiometric sound booth for the newly built Kalispell, Montana Community-Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC), 750 Reserve Pl. Kalispell, MT. 59901 Room 124. This requirement will cover the procurement, delivery, installation, and initial testing/calibration of one audiometric sound booth. The sound booth must integrate with existing audiology equipment and meet current accessibility, acoustic, and infection control requirements. Contractor shall assemble and install the sound booth at the designated clinic location. Installation must include: *Offloading of all materials *Placement of booth per floor plan *Onsite assembly (modular, as required for building entry) *Mechanical and electrical hookup to VA infrastructure *Ensuring full ADA accessibility *Ensuring booth interfaces with existing clinic audiometers, including power/cable pass- throughs and support for networked devices if specified. *Ensuring to perform and document initial certification of booth ambient noise levels in compliance with ANSI S3.1 standards and provide written report of results. *Providing onsite (or virtual, if required by VA) training for VA staff in use and basic maintenance of the booth and provide user manuals and warranty documents. The VA will provide: Existing audiometers and network cabling for booth integration Site drawings and floor plans for booth placement Access to electrical and HVAC as required Facility access and escort as needed SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS: AUDIOMETRIC SOUND BOOTH Size and Dimensions Interior dimensions suitable for patient comfort and wheelchair accessibility Sound Booth door clear opening width minimum 32 inches to accommodate mobility devices. Inside Dimensions Must Not Exceed: 68" Width x 68" Length x 78" Height Outside Dimensions Must Not Exceed: 76" Width x 76" Length x 91" Height Sound Booth should be Low Profile 1 5/16" Floor (Standard) Opening of Sound Booth door should be at least 36 wide. Acoustic Performance Booth must meet ANSI S3.1 or ANSI S3.2 standards for permissible ambient noise levels for audiometric testing. Noise reduction rating (NRR): Must provide minimum� 60 dB� attenuation. Walls and ceilings must be constructed to block external environmental noise and vibration. Accessibility Compliant with ADA standards: Level entry, non-skid thresholds, and sufficient turn radius inside booth. Door hardware must be easy to operate by individuals with disabilities. Electrical and Lighting Booth must include interior lighting, minimum 400 lux, flicker-free. Electrical outlets: Minimum one duplex outlet. Cable pass-through ports for audiometer and other equipment. Ventilation Non-noise (silent) ventilation system to avoid interference with testing. Air exchange rate to ensure comfort for patient and provider. Materials and Construction Durable, non-toxic materials. Easy-to-clean surfaces, impervious to liquids and disinfectants. Fire-retardant construction (meet appropriate fire safety codes). Warranty and Service Minimum one-year manufacturer s warranty on booth and components. On-site installation and calibration included. Technical support and manuals provided. Installation Contractor shall assemble and install the sound booth at the designated clinic location. Installation must include: *Placement of booth per floor plan *Onsite assembly (modular, as required for building entry) *Mechanical and electrical hookup to VA infrastructure *Ensuring full ADA accessibility Vendor must provide delivery, assembly, and installation, including site-specific customization as needed. Must fit through standard VA facility doors or be modular for assembly on-site. Equipment Compatibility Must be able to interface with VA-provided audiometers and hearing test equipment (list compatibility requirements if possible). Certification and Compliance Must provide documentation of ANSI and ADA compliance. Vendor must comply with VA security and facility access requirements. END DOCUMENT
