SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE: SPRDL1-26-R-0056 ITEM NAME: Engine, Diesel NSN: 2815-01-558-2770 MANUFACTURER / CAGE/ PART NUMBER: Cummins Central Power / 4TNW9 / DR1439FRS QUANTITY: 12 OPTION QUANTITY: 12 END ITEM: Forward Repair System (FRS) RESPONSE DATE: 26 February 2026 REQUIREMENTS DESCRIPTION: A reciprocating internal combustion engine in which the power necessary to produce motion of the mechanism is obtained by igniting a compressed fuel and air mixture within the cylinder or cylinders by extreme heat resulting from compression. The engine consists of a cylinder block assemlby complete with cylinder head(s) and oil pan(s). It may include attachments or accessories, such as starter motor, transmission for auxiliary equipment, clutch, oil filter, flywheel, flywheel housing or battery charging generator. A fuel tank is not included. The Government does not have rights to the Technical Data Package (TDP) or specifications. This sources sought notice is published in compliance with FAR Part 10, Market Research. The purpose of this sources sought notice is to canvas the industry for any possible other sources. This request for capability information does not constitute a request for proposals. Submission of any information in response to this market research is purely voluntary. The Government assumes no financial responsibility for any costs incurred in responding or in any subsequent exchange of information. Contractors interested in becoming a source of supply need to meet the requirements of the Source Approval Program including vehicle level qualification testing, at their own expense. The TACOM Life Cycle Management Command, Competition Management Office (CMO), is the lead proponet for the Source Approval Program.
