Description

The purpose of this amendment is to answer questions submitted by interested vendors. The period for questions is now closed. See questions and answers below: Please clarify how deficiencies discovered after the initial 10-day window will be covered under this contract. Any deficiency requiring repair that is discovered after the initial 10-day window will be covered under Section J. Repairs. Can the previous annual inspection reports for these fire alarm systems be provided? See attached inspection report summaries. These summaries are provided as supplemental information and should not be used as a reference or basis for pricing. Quotes should be based on the quantities and information provided in the SOW. The information presented in the SOW should take precedence over any conflicting information discovered in the inspection report summaries. Note, the discrepancy identified in the St Albans report is currently being addressed and is expected to be fully corrected prior to the start of this contract. The work required to correct the deficiency identified in the St Albans report summary is not included in this requirement. For our awareness and clarity of the scope of work, can you explain why we are to bypass building 65 at the St. Albans CLC? The Building 65 fire alarm system is down because of needed building repairs. System must be bypassed to allow for all alarms, troubles, etc. to be separated from the main fire alarm panel. Does this mean we are not responsible for inspection and testing of devices in building 65 at the St. Albans CLC? Fire alarm inspection and testing will not be required while the building is not in service. Fire alarm inspection and testing may be required when the building is restored (date unknown). Are the elevator recalls done during normal operating hours or are they scheduled after hours? Elevator recalls may be performed during normal operating hours Scope of Work Section G.i. Inspection Cycles, Sub-sections 1 and 2 are hereby revised to the following: 1. Quarterly: a. Supervisory Signal Devices: Testing of tamper switches, valve supervisory switches, and other supervisory devices. b. Impact-Delivered Alarm Devices: Testing of devices like pressure switches that deliver alarms upon impact. 2. Semi-Annually: a. Control Equipment: Visual inspection to ensure that the fire alarm control panel and any other control equipment are in proper condition. b. Initiating Devices: Testing of manual pull stations, smoke detectors, heat detectors, and other initiating devices to ensure they are functioning correctly. c. Notification Appliances: Testing of horns, bells, and other notification devices to ensure they are operational. d. Power Supplies: Inspecting batteries and other power components to ensure they are properly charged and functional. e. Test printers to ensure they remain operational.
