Description

The US Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, intends to procure this requirement on a sole source basis in accordance with the statutory of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as implemented by RFO 6.103-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The US Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, intends to enter a fixed-price contract with Timken Gears & Services Inc. of Mokena, IL for maintenance of eight Philadelphia Gear, 1800DHV, industrial-output worm gears. The new equipment prolonged storage preservation service must be performed by an authorized original equipment manufacturer (OEM) in accordance with the same preservation service using the GearLogic process. The GearLogic process is required as it uses a specially formulated product that maintains a thin, non-hardening preservative barrier between any moisture that may enter the gearboxes. The NAICS code for this procurement is 237990 with a size standard of $45,000,000. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES and no solicitation will be issued; however, any small-business firm that believes it can meet the requirement may give written notification to the Contracting Officer in the form of a capability statement. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirement listed and must be furnished to the point of contact listed below by the stated deadline on this notice. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
