This announcement constitutes a Special Notice. The purpose of this document is for market research purposes only. This document does not commit or obligate the Government in any manner. THIS IS NOT a Request for Quote (RFQ) or a Request for Proposal (RFP). This announcement shall not be construed as a commitment by the government to issue a solicitation or award a contract at this time. The documents included in this posting are not finalized. Summary The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veteran Health Administration (VHA), Network Contracting Office (NCO) 21, on behalf of VA Palo Alto Health Care System (VAPAHCS) has a need to replace the Top Door Alarm Gen1 system and install an updated alarm system to detect and notify caregivers of potential acts of self-harm when a door is used as a ligature point within its Mental Health Inpatient Wings. This notice is to determine interest and capability of potentially qualified Businesses (All Sizes) relative to the North American Industry Classification code (NAICS): 238990 � All Other Specialty Trade Contractors. The Product Service Code (PSC) will be 6350 � Miscellaneous Alarm, Signal, and Security Detection Systems. The VA is not seeking proposals at this time and will not accept unsolicited proposals. All responses shall be solely in the form of information and materials. Project Description Remove and install to include retrofit of all parts and materials for an anti-ligature overhead door alarm system. Contractor is to provide all labor, alarm devices, horns, flashing strobe lights sensors, delivery and any or all accessories to complete the project. All costs associated with responding to this RFI will be the sole responsibility of the respondent. PLEASE NOTE- The Government reserves the right to not respond to any questions received by industry in response to this posting. All submissions will be treated as business confidential materials, become Government property, and will not be returned.
