Description

THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS. This synopsis is to make available a notice of proposed contract action as required by FAR 5.201. The Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) requires assistive technology for nonverbal students or students with limited oral and written communication skills. The two Apple apps that meet the varied needs of such students are the LAMP? and Proloquo2Go. LAMP? is a communication app with motor planning provides a proven therapeutic approach based on neurological and motor learning, LAMP?. Proloquo2Go promotes growth of communication skills and fosters language development through research-based vocabularies. LAMP? is primarily used by students with autism, and Proloquo2Go is used by students with autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and other diagnoses. The period of performance will be for a base year and four option years. DoDEA estimates that 35 LAMP? and Proloquo2Go apps will be required in the base year and 20 of each app will be required in each option year. This will be a commercial procurement in accordance with FAR Parts 12 and 13 and will be competed under 100% Small Business Set-Aside and may result in a single or multiple Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity award(s) with a four (4) year base ordering period. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) 334614 (Software and Other Prerecorded Compact Disc, Tape, and Record Reproducing) and the business size is 1,250. This notice of intent is NOT a request for proposals or quotations. Interested parties who feel that they possess the capabilities to satisfy this requirement should submit a capability statement demonstrating their abilities to meet this requirement. The information received in response to this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct competitive procurement.
