Description
Naval Ophthalmic Readiness Activity (NORA) requires continuing preventive maintenance and service for five (5) Robotic MEI Racer Edging Machines. These MEI Racer edging machines were procured from MEI Systems, Inc. on 15 January 2019. They were installed in the Finishing Department at NORA. Preventive maintenance and support services are to be performed on each MEI Racer Edger. The maintenance and support services shall provide software maintenance and technical support services. The maintenance will ensure optimum performance and reduce downtime contributing directly to the Department of Defense Optical Fabrication Enterprise and will maintain operational readiness to its beneficiaries. As software support and licensed preventive maintenance on MEI Racer edgers is proprietary and must conform to installed systems, the Government plans to solicit this requirement on a sole source basis. Justification for Sole Source is attached to this notice.
