Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial services prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Part 12, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. PAPER COPIES OF THIS SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE. Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY), requires non-personal services to operate the on-site Security Destruction Center. The selected contractor will provide labor to operate Government-Furnished industrial disintegrators and heavy shredding units to safely destroy classified and sensitive materials. Primary Objective: Secure receipt, logging, staging, and physical destruction of paper files and sensitive material in accordance with Department of Navy security protocols. Staffing Requirements: One (1) Lead (Material Coordinator) and Four (4) Operators (Material Handling Laborers). Security Clearance MANDATORY: All contractor personnel must possess and maintain an active SECRET security clearance with Restricted Data (RD) access prior to the start of performance. Period of Performance: One (1) 12-month Base Year, plus four (4) 12-month Option Years, and an optional 6-month extension (FAR 52.217-8).
