Description

THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. The Government hereby submits a notice of intent to award a sole source firm fixed price award for the US Coast Guard Air Facility Cordova for 2025 Deficiency Correction, Replacing Failed Fire Alarm Control, and the 2026 annual inspection. The vendor will be YUKON FIRE PROTECTION SERVICES, INC., 5451 Laona DR, Anchorage, Alaska 99518-1087, UEI: JAWTGX9MCDJ6 This action is being awarded on a sole source basis pursuant to FAR 12.102, services required by the agency are available from only one responsible source and no other type of services will satisfy agency requirements. Subject vendor was awarded a purchase order via a competitive process in Fiscal Year 2025 (70Z04525PKODI0098). As a result of that purchase order and resultant inspection, multiple deficiencies were identified, including alarm systems not activating as required. Subject vendor has all testing documentation, knowledge of failed systems, and the capability of performing the repairs without requiring duplicative troubleshooting or diagnosis efforts. With the location being in a remote area of Alaska, the USCG will also leverage travel cost savings to have the same vendor perform the annual certification and inspection at the same time as the required repairs. USCG Base Kodiak, Kodiak, Alaska, will be the procuring entity for this effort. Performance will be located at Cordova, AK. The Government intends to acquire commercial items and services using the provisions, clauses, and procedures prescribed in FAR Part 12. The NAICS Code for this requirement is 561621. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact no later than 23 Jul 2026, at 1:00 p.m., Alaska time. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.
