Description
The Rotor Mast , whose National Stock Number (NSN) is 1615-00-255-2896 and Part Number (PN) is 204-040-366-15), is an assembly of parts not all having the same item name which is used an an extension between the tranmission and rotor hub on the UH-1N helicopter. It is the mechanism for attaching the main rotor to the helicopter and drive train, and for driving the main rotor assembly. It consists of a machined tubular steel alloy mast shaft, forged liner, mast bearing nut, and forged plate assembly. The DLA Weapons Support Contracting Office intends to award a sole source contract to the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), Bell Textron Inc.,under FAR 6.302-1, "Only One Responsible Source." Bell Textron, Inc. (CAGE 97499) is the sole source of supply for the Rotor Mast (NSN 1615-00-255-2896). The Government does not own any data, drawings, schematics, or any other releasable technical data in support of this requirement. Consequently, Bell Textron Inc. is the only known source with the required technical expertise, proprietary data, and manufacturing capability to ensure proper performance and compatibility of the equipment. No funds are available to reimburse respondents for preparation of submissions. All information provided is strictly voluntary and will be used to support the Market Research Report for the Rotor Mast. All interested parties who want to identify their interest and capability may respond to this Soures Sought Synopsis (SSS) no later than 5-DEC-2025 at 12 PM EST.
