Description
The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to negotiate and award a Cost-Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF) contract, with base and option CLINs for a Period of Performance up to five (5) years, to Raytheon (RAY), formerly Raytheon Missiles and Defense (RMD), 1151 East Hermans Road, Tucson, AZ, 85734-1337, for continued AIM-9X missile improvement activities. The requirements associated with this development effort include: Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE) for development of hardware, domestic and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Operational Flight Software (OFS) and Integrated Flight Simulation (IFS) software support to include new capability software development, support of existing software and software improvements; trade studies and analysis to investigate future capabilities, integration, and existing processes; hardware and software risk reduction efforts; development of test assets; and integration of engineering changes into the development efforts. The AIM-9X Program is a joint DoN and USAF program with the United States Navy (USN) designated as the lead service. Requirements are for the Department of the Navy (DoN), United States Air Force (USAF) and various FMS customers. NAVAIR intends to award this procurement sole source to Raytheon Missiles and Defense (RMD), 1151 East Hermans Road, Tucson, AZ 85734-1337, based on the authority provided in FAR 6.301-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Sources or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. IMPORTANT ADDITONAL INFORMATION FOR INTERESTED PARTIES: There are no commitments by the Government to issue any solicitations, make an award or awards, or to be responsible for any monies expended by any interested parties before award of a contract or contracts for the efforts mentioned above.
