PHENOTYPE IS THE OBSERVABLE PROPERTIES OF AN ORGANISM THAT ARE PRODUCED BY THE INTERACTION OF THE GENOTYPE AND THE ENVIRONMENT AND SORGHUM IS A TROPICAL GRASS SIMILAR TO CORN IN HABIT. THE GOAL OF THIS SYSTEMS-LEVEL APPROACH IS TO SCREEN MORE PLANTS, TO SELECT THE APPROPRIATE PLANTS EARLIER IN THE GROWING SEASON, TO CAPTURE BETTER INFORMATION ABOUT THEM DURING THEIR DEVELOPMENT, AND IDENTIFY THE BEST GENES TO PROPAGATE.
