Is Virginia vendor registration free?

Many state portals charge nothing or only a small state fee. Confirm any fee on the official site. Never pay a third party who claims they can replace free official forms without explaining what you are buying.

Do I still need SAM.gov?

Yes for most federal prime work. Virginia registration does not create a SAM Unique Entity ID. Start with the SAM.gov registration walkthrough if you need both tracks.

Should I pay an expediter?

Only if you understand the fee and still want hand-holding after free APEX counseling. Official registration is on government portals. Expediters do not make you more competitive on price or past performance.
